Palazzo Gangi
Experience the grandeur of Palazzo Gangi, renowned as the most sumptuous private residence in Sicily. This iconic palace gained legendary status when Luchino Visconti chose it as the setting for the unforgettable ballroom scene in Il Gattopardo (The Leopard) in 1963.
The beauty of its halls and ballroom is nothing short of dazzling. The Hall of Mirrors, a vast room in an enchanting yet slightly whimsical Rococo style, stands out as a Baroque masterpiece with golden fittings and intricately painted doors.
Guests will be welcomed by the palace’s owners, who seamlessly blend tradition with modern entrepreneurship. Then, continue your journey through history with a visit to the Palazzo dei Normanni, the royal seat of the Norman kings, where you’ll discover the stunning Palatine Chapel. This chapel, renowned for its incredible mosaics, is a masterpiece of Norman-Arab-Byzantine architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site. With its golden mosaics depicting biblical scenes and its harmonious blend of artistic styles, the Palatine Chapel is a testament to Palermo’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.
